Who We Are
Vocational welfare society for mentally retarded was established in
1972, it is registered with the social welfare department, Govt. of
Sindh under the voluntary Agencies (Registration & control)
ordinance 1961.
Markaz-e-Umeed has been in operation for the Welfare of the Mentally
Retarded Children for <b>last 35 years. It has provided Commendable
services to the Mentally Retarded of the City, so that they may able
to stand on their feet and live an independent life.
Markaz-e-Umeed is a voluntary organization depending entirely on
contributions by general public. We do not charge fee for the
services we provide.
There is no way to cover School's expenditure by way of
Contributions by general public, grants by Zakat Foundation. The
only alternative is to closure of School which would be highly
unfortunate and detrimental of the interest of the Mentally Retarded
Children and their already tormented parents.
